Ahmad Khatami, the Friday Prayer Leader of Tehran, called for the death penalty for detained protesters and the arrest of individuals who have supported the protests in any way. Khatami, who has been appointed as the Friday Prayer Leader of Tehran by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic and is a member of the Assembly of Experts and the Guardian Council, described the protesters as "servants" of Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, and "soldiers of Trump." Regarding Netanyahu and Trump, he stated: "They should expect severe retaliation from the system. Americans and Zionists should not expect peace." In his sermon, Ahmad Khatami also provided statistics on the damages caused by the protests, claiming that 350 mosques, 126 prayer halls, and 20 other sacred places have been damaged. He also announced that 80 houses of Friday Prayer Leaders have also been affected.
