Fatemeh Ardeshir Larijani, daughter of Ali Larijani, has been expelled from Emory University in Atlanta. Nasser Makarem, a neurosurgeon at the university, has published an image of the letter terminating Fatemeh Ardeshir Larijani's employment. Additionally, her profile page on the university's website has been removed. The letter, signed by the Dean of the Emory University School of Medicine, states: "I am writing this letter to inform you that the physician who is the daughter of a senior Iranian government official is no longer an employee of Emory." Fatemeh Ardeshir Larijani was working at the Emory University Cancer Research Institute and reportedly introduced herself as Fatemeh Ardeshir in her workplace. Previously, dozens of Iranian-American citizens had protested outside Emory University against the employment of Ali Larijani's daughter at the university. Furthermore, Buddy Carter, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, had requested the revocation of Fatemeh Ardeshir Larijani's medical license in a letter to the university and the Georgia medical board.
