The Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs announced in a statement that the initial number of fatalities in the nationwide protests of 1404 is 3,117, of which 2,427 are considered martyrs. The Secretary of the National Security Council also claimed that 690 of the deceased are categorized as terrorists and rioters.

Following the release of this data, the Secretary of the National Security Council also claimed that the 690 individuals who are not among the martyrs are recognized as terrorists and rioters who attacked military sites.

The nationwide protests of 1404 began on the 7th of Dey due to economic reasons but quickly transformed into an anti-regime approach. These protests peaked on the 18th and 19th of Dey following a call from Prince Reza Pahlavi. Although there were reports of bloody suppression of protesters in the early days, this crackdown intensified on the 18th and 19th of Dey. Simultaneously, the internet in Iran was completely cut off, and other communication tools were also restricted.
