Donald Trump, the President of the United States, said on Wednesday, January 21, at the Davos summit in Switzerland to CNBC: "We hope there will be no further action. They were shooting at people in the streets recklessly and aimlessly."

He also referred to the threats from Iranian officials, stating that they intended to execute 837 people following the protests, but he did not allow this: "I told them: 'You cannot do this.'"

Trump emphasized that Iran must abandon its efforts to acquire nuclear weapons and warned that if these efforts continue, potential actions in the future cannot be ruled out. He said: "They could have had nuclear weapons a long time ago, but we hit them... They need to end the nuclear issue."

In response to a question about military options against Iran, Trump stressed: "No, that option has not been taken off the table."

He also reacted to criticisms regarding the lack of action against the Islamic Republic and support for the people of Iran, saying: "If I had found a cure for cancer, they would say why didn’t you do it sooner? These are sick people. We call this the anti-Trump syndrome."

Trump further referred to the U.S. attack on the Islamic Republic's nuclear facilities, stating: "If they want to do this again, it will happen again. They must stop the nuclear program. They should not be allowed to achieve it."
