Abbas Araqchi, the Foreign Minister of the fourteenth government, wrote in English on his account on social media platform X: "Our brave armed forces are ready — with fingers on the trigger — to immediately and powerfully respond to any aggression against the territory, airspace, and waters of our dear homeland."

The Iranian Foreign Ministry has stated that Tehran's current priority is readiness for defense, not negotiations with the United States. Kazem Gharibabadi, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran, emphasized that "sitting at the negotiating table with the United States does not mean reducing the likelihood of war" and added that "our priority at the moment is not negotiations with the United States but a 200 percent readiness to defend the country."

He also noted that despite "exchanging messages" with the United States, there are currently no negotiations taking place with the United States.

Axios reported, citing American officials, that there are currently no serious negotiations ongoing between the United States and the Islamic Republic. Countries including Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Qatar have been in contact with both sides and have conveyed messages. Axios also added that Trump spoke with Erdogan about Iran on Tuesday, and Araqchi had contact with the foreign ministers of Turkey, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia on Wednesday.
