Mike Waltz, the U.S. representative to the United Nations, announced in a Security Council meeting that the United States stands with the "brave people of Iran" and deemed the Iranian regime "fully responsible" for the economic crisis and the repression of freedoms in the country. He stated that estimates of the number of protesters killed vary "from thousands to tens of thousands" and that the cutting off of internet and communications in Iran is "deliberately done to hide the extent of the violence."

The U.S. representative also referenced the history of the 1979 hostage crisis, attacks on American forces in the Middle East, and "support for Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis," stating that the Iranian regime has been the "largest state sponsor of terrorism" and its actions have caused the deaths and suffering of countless civilians in various countries.

Waltz concluded by warning that the Iranian regime has become "weaker than ever" and that the nationwide protests are the result of "decades of mismanagement and repression." According to him, the government "fears its own people" and claims regarding a "foreign scenario" to justify the protests are "lies."

Masih Alinejad reported on the horrific dimensions of the repression of protesters in Iran at the United Nations Security Council. Citing reports received from inside the country, she stated that security forces not only use military weapons against the people but also execute the wounded in the streets and raid hospitals to arrest the injured.

Alinejad described the deliberate cutting off of the internet as an attempt to hide evidence of "mass killings." She stated that according to some reports, the death toll has exceeded 12,000 to 20,000, and videos sent show piles of body bags stacked on top of each other.

This political activist emphasized that Iranians from all walks of life have united with the slogan of stopping the transfer of the country's wealth to proxy groups like Hamas and Hezbollah in pursuit of freedom. She concluded by noting that if technologies like Starlink were not available, the world would never have learned about the depth of these atrocities and the plight of people who are forced to pay the regime to retrieve the bodies of their loved ones.

Ahmad Batebi, a political activist and former prisoner in the Islamic Republic, called for the international community to move beyond statements of condemnation and enter a phase of "practical action" during the Security Council meeting while outlining the critical situation in Iran. He emphasized that the actual figures of the dead in the protests are far beyond official reports, as the regime prevents the identification of victims by secretly burying bodies in unmarked graves.

Batebi referred to the presence of foreign proxy forces, including Hashd al-Shaabi, Hezbollah, Fatemiyoun, and Zainabiyoun, in suppressing the people, stating that many of these operatives do not even speak Persian. Addressing Donald Trump and other world leaders directly, he expressed gratitude for verbal support but stressed that the people of Iran should not be left alone against a regime equipped with financial and military power.

He concluded by warning that without physical and international support, regime change is not possible, and the continuation of global silence or inaction will lead to ongoing "mass killings and genocide" in Iran.

Gholamhossein Darzi, the representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran at the United Nations, accused Donald Trump, the President of the United States, of openly inciting violence in Iran and called for the UN Secretary-General and the Security Council to take action against the provocative statements from the U.S. He stated that the remarks from the U.S. President have exacerbated the internal crisis and increased violence during the protests over the past two weeks in Iran.
