The official Persian-language page of the U.S. State Department announced in a message that reports have been received indicating that the Islamic Republic is preparing options to target American bases.

The message states that, as President Donald Trump has repeatedly emphasized, "all options remain on the table" and in the event of any attack by the Islamic Republic on U.S. assets, the country "will face a very, very powerful response."

The U.S. State Department further reiterated its previous position, warning: "We have said this before and we say it again, do not play games with President Trump."
